An evening with acclaimed writer, director, and Oscar nominee Billy Ray

Join the MFA in Writing & Contemporary Media program for an evening with Billy Ray. Ray will be interviewed in the Antioch University Santa Barbara Community Hall by KCRW Morning Edition host Jonathan Bastian.

Billy Ray is a writer/director whose career has spanned over three decades. He received an Oscar nomination for his screenplay Captain Phillips. Other highlights include co-writer of The Hunger Games and writing and directing the films Shattered Glass, Breach and Secret in Their Eyes. Next up in theaters are his scripts for Gemini Man (directed by Ang Lee, starring Will Smith) and Terminator: Dark Fate. He is currently adapting the James Comey book A Higher Loyalty which he will direct as a four-hour, two-night movie for CBS. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Writers Guild of America and is currently on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Governors.
