Education Alumna Testifies in Olympia
From library classroom to legislators in session, Antioch library media graduates embrace the leadership role for today’s librarians.
Jaime Daniels, Library Media, 2010, teacher-librarian for Washington’s Bethel School District, testified before the House Education Committee on March 17, 2011. Daniels advocated for passage of SSB 5392 which provides students with the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills essential to know and apply the core concepts and principles of technology.
Daniels was asked to testify as a member of the Washington Library Media Association (WLMA) to offer her experience working with children and technology in the classroom. She explained how technology benefits students, teachers and society and educated the legislators on the committee regarding the teacher-librarian’s role in implementing technologies in the schools.
