New Vice President of Academic Affairs Joins Antioch University Seattle

Dr. Peter M. Rojcewicz has been appointed the new vice president of academic affairs and dean of faculty at Antioch University Seattle (AUS).

Citing the AUS core values of a holistic, student-centered education emphasizing social justice, diversity and broad perspectives as a good match for his own, Rojcewicz will focus on ensuring high quality, mission-relevant education to Antioch’s 1,200 students.

“I believe in the power of socially challenging intellectual work to educate people in the knowledge of a practice, profession, or way of life, while enhancing responsible citizenship,” Rojcewicz states.

He previously served as dean of the School of Holistic Studies at John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, CA, where he managed seven departments and more than 100 faculty and staff. Additional responsibilities included supervision of an art gallery, a community arts program, and a counseling center.

Dr. Rojcewicz received his M.A. degree in English from Northeastern University and his Ph.D. degree in folklore and folk life from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to his tenure as dean at John F. Kennedy University, Rojcewicz chaired the Department of Liberal Arts at The Juilliard School.

In addition, he has taught extensively, including assignments at Northeastern University, Assumption College, Clark University, University of Pennsylvania, Nashville Institute for the Arts, C.G. Jung Foundation for Analytical Psychology, The Juilliard School, and John F. Kennedy University. He has published scholarly articles on topics of the liberal arts and humanities, folklore and folk life, arts education, and Jungian depth psychology. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards for his teaching and his original poetry.

Cassandra Manuelito-Kerkvliet, president of Antioch University Seattle is pleased that Rojcewicz has taken the academic leadership role and joining her team. “Peter has the depth of experience in growing academic programs, working with faculty, and commitment to building a diverse community of learners. Peter is a great choice to lead Academic Affairs, and we’re excited to have him join Antioch University Seattle.”
