Jason Moss, an alum of the AUS School of Education’s MAT Program, received the “Teacher of the Year” award at Madrona Elementary for the 2018-19 school year. The recipient of this award is recognized as an outstanding teacher by fellow staff, parents, and students. Receiving the award is especially impressive for Jason, as this was his first year teaching at Madrona Elementary. Madrona’s principal, Mary McDaniel, noted that Jason is an excellent teacher, and has been adept at building community among the students and families, both in his class and school-wide.
Jason will return to teach 5th grade at Madrona next year. He previously taught in Federal Way, and before he joined the MAT program he taught in California. Over the course of his career, he has taught in taught in Kindergarten, first, second, and 4th grades. The School of Education is so proud of Jason and the recognition that he has received as Teacher of the Year!
