WEP Every Thursday – Service Learning Available
If you’re in need of service learning credits, this is a great way to get them:
The Women’s Education Program (WEP) meets every Thursday morning from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Students engage with sober homeless women in the Seattle community, participate in group discussions, and provide a listening ear to those seeking to improve their lives during a difficult time. Students are involved in setting up breakfast and assisting with a variety of learning activities, including computer tutoring, art projects and discussion and writing groups. Students learn about historical, cultural, societal, and economic contexts of homelessness by visiting local resources and through readings, and gain experience in cultural awareness and human services.
Students are welcome to stop by on a Thursday and check out the program!
