Welcome to Antioch University Seattle. As the Pacific Northwest’s outpost of the five-campus Antioch University system, we serve adult learners who are ready for something different.
Antioch’s learning model emphasizes engagement, community, and collaboration. Our Bachelor’s Degree Completion program serves self-directed learners who are tired of the routine that defines institutionalized education in order to find individualized pathways to personal and career goals. Antioch’s BA in Health Counseling and Psychology prepares graduates to work in the fast-growing applied healthcare sector with employment opportunities in hospitals, public health agencies, and community organizations.
Our accredited graduate programs in Psychology prepare multiculturally sensitive clinicians for the beginning practice of individual, couple, and family therapy. The Clinical Mental Health Counseling program prepares students to join a profession focused on social justice, advocacy and practice from the MA level through a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Education and Supervision.
AU Seattle is the home of the Creative Arts Therapy Institute which prepares ethical, culturally attuned, knowledgeable practitioners with competency in art therapy, drama therapy, or play therapy who also earn degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or Couple and Family Therapy.
Finally, programs in our School of Education reflect Antioch University’s commitment to social justice through transformative education and leadership development for responsible educational change.
Our roots reach back to the 19th century and our founding by progressive abolitionists who built a diverse and innovative faculty who transformed university education. Today, we carry on their progressive tradition and continue to innovate and adapt to best serve the needs of our students.
The 21st Century Antioch is also convenient, with many classes offered on evenings and weekends, and with some programs offering new hybrid and online options that can help a working student meet obligations outside of the classroom. Our new and beautiful learning space on 3rd Avenue and Battery Street in Seattle boasts state of the art classrooms, student centered design, and convenience for Seattle’s growing urban community.
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Antioch University, I welcome you and invite you to explore both online and in our building.
