Cary McAdams Hamilton is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Child Mental Health Specialist, and Registered Play Therapy Supervisor with diverse experience working in private practice, non-profit mental health services, juvenile justice, public education, residential treatment center and county assistance programs. She is focused on working with children, adolescents, and their families to improve relationships and healing.
Cary is the President of Olympia Therapy PLLC and is the director and adjunct professor for the play therapy certification program at Antioch University, Seattle. Cary also holds an adjunct position at Brandman University in Lacey, WA and was previously an adjunct professor at George Fox University in Portland, OR. She presents various educational seminars and trainings, including: An Introduction to Play Therapy; Neurobiologically Informed Play Therapy; An Examination of Trauma and Healing Through Play Therapy, among many others! Cary was the 2015-2016 Washington State Association for Play Therapy (WA-APT) President. Furthermore, in October 2016, Cary had the amazing opportunity to teach an 8-day seminar on Play and Filial Therapy to mental health professionals in Beijing, China, hosted through Apollo Education.
