Dr. Paula L. Houston was most recently the CEO of Sound Generations in Seattle, Washington, the largest non-profit in the state providing services and programs to seniors and those who care for them. Previously to that role, she spent eight years as the Executive Director for the Meredith Mathews East Madison YMCA, a vibrant urban branch of the YMCA of Greater Seattle and was the Association Director of Public Affairs. Dr. Houston has a B.S. from Syracuse University, a master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of Washington and earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Seattle University in 2014.
Dr. Houston is an active community leader and has served on several non-profit boards. She has a passion for supporting organizations and programs that focus on improving the quality of life for a lifetime, in the effort to strengthen the overall health and well-being of the community. She has been a member of Seattle Rotary #4 for 9 years, where she has held an officer position and is active in numerous committees. She is currently on the board of the Alzheimer’s Association and is a member of the Seattle Art Museum’s Education and Community Engagement Committee. In 2016 she was appointed by the Mayor of the City of Seattle to the Seattle Housing Authority Board of Commissioners and previously served two terms on the Seattle Women’s Commission.
