Making Whiteness Visible

May 1 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Flier for Making Whiteness Visible

How is your life affected by race?

Please join us as Antioch University presents a film that focuses on the experiences and learning pathways of white people who have committed their lives to challenging racism.

Making Whiteness Visible is a documentary by Shakti Butler which seeks to understand the perspectives that perpetuate prejudice and racism in modern society. The film ultimately challenges all notions of racism, prejudice and white supremacy in the United States.

The audience is invited to take part in a dialogue facilitated by Cheri Gurse, PhD, AUSB Faculty in the Undergraduate Studies Program and Steve Schapiro, EdD, Dean for Academic Affairs at Fielding Graduate University.  Both are interested in how white people can be good partners with people of color in working for racial justice.

“The deep dialogue this engenders serves as a bridge between Whites and people of color interested in working to build a more equitable and democratic society.” – Shakti Butler, PhD, Co-Director, World Trust Educational Services, Inc.
