Antioch University Seattle values student diversity and welcomes applications from qualified international candidates. Applicants from outside the United States should apply at least three to four months before the quarter starts to allow time to process all required paperwork. Contact us for more information.

 

International Admission Requirements

If you are applying for international student admission (F-1 student visa), in addition to meeting the program-specific admission requirements, you must submit the following:

  1. Proof of English Proficiency
  2. Transcript evaluation for all coursework done outside of the U.S. or Canada (except Quebec).
  3. Financial Certification
  4. Photocopy of your passport

Additionally, if you are an international student currently studying in the U.S. and are wishing to transfer to Antioch University Seattle, please be prepared to submit the following in addition to providing the above mentioned:

 

Expanded International Admission Requirements

English Language Proficiency

Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency through successful completion of ETS-TOEFL, Kaplan’s TOEFL, or IELTS. *See the list below for acceptable scores.

  1. ETS Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
    To find a TOEFL testing center in your country, contact the U.S. Embassy, U.S. Consulate or U.S. Information Service in your country.
    Request official score to be sent directly to Antioch University Seattle, institution code 4146.
    Required minimum score: 79 (internet), 550 (paper), 213 (computer)
  2. Kaplan’s TOEFL – Minimum Score: Kaplan’s Advanced Level
  3. IELTS – Minimum Score: 6.5 or higher

Transcript Evaluation

If you had schooling in a country other than the U.S. or Canada (except Quebec), you must request two official transcripts from each of your academic institutions.

  • One official transcript sent directly to Antioch University Seattle by the academic institution(s). If transcripts are not in English, they must be translated to English by certified translators.
  • A second official transcript be sent directly to a credential evaluator. Antioch requires certified translations and evaluations of international documents.
  • You may select a credential evaluator from NACES

Financial Certification

You must submit documentation of your ability to pay the educational and living expenses for at least one academic year of your program. Please review the Estimated Budget Sheet, then submit the Financial Statement and the required documentation. The bank documentation should include the following elements:

  • Bank name and address on official letterhead
  • Dated no earlier than 6-9 months before the first day of the start term
  • Sponsor’s first and last name, relation to the applicant, and an indication of sponsorship
  • Amount of available funds in US or foreign currency
  • Photocopy of Your Passport

This should be a photocopy of the passport page that lists the expiration date. The photocopy should be sent via mail to: Antioch University Seattle, Admissions Office, 2400 Third Avenue, Suite 200, Seattle, WA 98121. You also have the option to send it electronically as a scanned image or PDF to: [email protected]

If you are accepted to one of Antioch’s degree or certificate programs, you will receive the necessary U.S. immigration forms to apply for a student visa through the U.S. consulate in your home country. Admission to Antioch University does not guarantee that you will receive a student visa. If you do not receive a student visa in time for your program to start, you may contact the Admissions Office for assistance in changing your admission to a later quarter.

It is important to note that as an international student with a student visa, you must be enrolled full-time each quarter. In general, your student visa does not allow you to be employed while in school.
