Elementary Education Endorsement
Become the Teacher Your Community Needs
Antioch's Elementary Education Endorsement is built on a simple belief: teaching is an act of justice. Through hands-on mentorship, small collaborative classes, and a curriculum rooted in equity and critical reflection, you'll grow into an educator who doesn't just manage a classroom — you'll transform it.
Our students leave with more than an endorsement. They leave with the skills, insight, and courage to lead in their schools and communities, ready to earn their Washington K-8 Teaching Endorsement, with the option to pair it with a Master's Degree along the way.
Program Overview
We believe education can change the world — one classroom at a time. Antioch's Elementary Education Endorsement is designed to give you a strong foundation as you take your first steps into teaching: building your skills, finding your voice, and discovering the kind of educator you want to become. At the heart of it all is real-world experience: from fall through spring, you'll work side-by-side with experienced mentor teachers in public school classrooms, learning the craft of teaching through practice, guidance, and reflection. Our graduates step into their first classrooms ready to teach with confidence, purpose, and a clear sense of the impact they can have on their students.

Additional Information
Antioch Elementary Education Endorsement offers flexibility so candidates can customize their plan for the career goals and pacing that work for them. Candidates can complete the requirements for a Washington Teaching Certificate in Elementary (K-8) Education in as little as 12 months (beginning in July and ending in June), or they can enroll in an extended plan of study and complete the program in two years. Candidates may enroll in the optional ELL Endorsement courses concurrently or after they complete the requirements for their K-8 Teaching Certificate.
To be recommended for a State of Washington Teaching Certificate (K-8), candidates complete 39 semester credits, which include a combination of coursework and fieldwork. While the pedagogy classes and core classes are held online, student teaching must be in-person.
