Admissions Process

Undergraduate

Admission Requirements Antioch University Seattle offers a Bachelor of Arts degree through degree completion programs. All applicants to the BA program must have completed at least 36 quarter or 24 semester units to be eligible for admission. A combined minimum of one full-time year of college credit is required; however, AUS will transfer up to the equivalent of three full-time years (80 semester units/120 quarter units). We look for applicants that have the following:

  • Undergraduate-level academic skills, including upper-division writing and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and carry out independent academic work, including a high degree of responsibility and skills in self-directed learning
  • Strong aptitude to work collaboratively with others in an interactive learning environment. Applicants are only evaluated based on their applications, not the applications of other candidates. The Admissions Committee endeavors to identify strong candidates for the program and to support them to become students. An applicant that is qualified, but applies after the program is full for the quarter, will be deferred to the next quarter.

To Apply:

  • Complete the online application form.
  • Have official copies of your college/university transcripts sent to the Admission Office.
  • Submit a short essay (two-three pages; approximately 500 words). See program pages for specific essay prompts.

Applicants coming to AUS fulfill the minimum transfer requirement with:

  • College courses taken at a U.S. college or university (with a final grade of ‘C’ or better, or pass if taken as pass/no pass)
  • College Board Advanced Placement exams (a score of 3 or higher)
  • CLEP credit (a score of 50)
  • International coursework (university, college, upper-secondary/gymnasium) that is assessed to be equivalent to college credit earned at a regionally accredited U.S. college/university (with a final grade of ‘C’ or better, or pass if taken as pass/no pass) by an external transcript evaluation agency.
