Erin Godfrey Bethel

Antioch University Seattle

Erin Godfrey Bethel is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Education, K-12 School Library Media endorsement program. She is currently a Teacher Librarian at Washington Elementary in the Tacoma Public Schools. She has over fifteen years of experience teaching.

Bethel is a member of the 2019-2020 cohort of the Teacher Leadership Academy and a Web Master for Tacoma School District. She also serves on the Board for the Pierce County Library Foundation. 

She is a member and frequent conference presenter for the Washington Library Association and (WLA) and the Washington Library Employees (WALE).

Educational History

Bethel earned a Master of Education from University of Washington and school library endorsement from Antioch University Seattle. She received the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification in Early and Middle Childhood/Literacy: Reading-Language Arts in 2008 and was recertified in 2018. Trained by Microsoft, she is also a certified Microsoft Innovative Educator.

Bethel will contribute to and be featured in Core Values in School Librarianship: Responding with Commitment and Courage, edited by Judi Moreillon, to be published by the Libraries Unlimited imprint of ABC-CLIO, in 2021.
