I practice a constructivist pedagogy and view students as active participants in their own learning. We live in a diverse world with students coming from various backgrounds and life experiences. I view my role as an effective professor to be that of facilitating a dialogue that enriches students and pushes them to think outside of their personal experiences. A diverse learning environment provides an excellent opportunity for growth not only for students but also for the professor. My seminar teaching strategy engages students in a constructive negotiation of beliefs that ultimately drives insight and fosters empathy. My hope is to make my students think and engage them in meaning-making activities that take them on a journey from solipsism to intersubjectivity.

As a social justice advocate and an individual who is constantly driven to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism, my teaching philosophy celebrates diversity and uses it as an educational tool. This inclusive pedagogy highlights individual differences and views the educators and students from the same lens: individuals actively seeking continuous growth and learning. This is the philosophy that aligns with my beliefs and values and is the pedagogy I implement as a professor.
