Dr. Lemuel Watson joined the Graduate School of Leadership and Change (GSLC) as Core Faculty and Professor of Inclusive Leadership and Change, in July 2022. Dr. Watston brings amazing experience, deep knowledge and expertise, and extraordinary breadth to GSLC students’ learning and the Ph.D. in Leadership and Change program’s capacity to achieve our goals. Most recently, he has been the Acting Vice Provost of Diversity and Inclusion at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB), where he also served as Faculty Affiliate in African American and Africa Diaspora as well as Faculty Affiliate in Gender Studies, and had been Dean of the School of Education, which is consistently ranked as one of the top education schools in the US. Before that, and over the course of many decades, Dr. Watson has been a Professor of Adult and Higher Education, Professor of Education Leadership, and Faculty Associate for LGBTQ Studies. His research areas include mindfulness leadership, social justice, public policy, underrepresented populations, and higher education. Dr. Watson is a scholar, practitioner, poet, coach, and minister. Suffice to say, he is interdisciplinary to his core and a bridge-builder in all he does.
