Stephen Jones, PhD, is an adjunct faculty member teaching Loss and Bereavement in the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Santa Barbara. He received his PhD in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute where he also serves as adjunct faculty. His dissertation entitled The Medicine We Carry is an ethnographic portrait of social model hospice care. Dr. Jones speaks locally and nationally on issues connected to end of life care.

He is the Community Education Coordinator for Hospice of Santa Barbara and explains his primary role as a community builder. His function is to empower people with information related to dying, death, and grief, gathering the community to discuss topics that connects us deeply to one another. According to Dr. Jones, hospice represents the best a community can be for one another. It is our compassion moved to action, a caring expression of our shared humanity.
