Compensation: The minimum salary for this position based on residential location, is: CA $1,440.00 per credit hour, WA $1,321.00 per credit hour, Other locations: $1,308 per credit hour.
Position Overview
Antioch University is seeking a qualified and passionate Instructor to teach Allied Health Courses. Courses are designed to prepare graduate students to become effective leaders in healthcare by developing their leadership skills, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities within diverse healthcare systems and policy organizations. The Instructor will guide students in analyzing and applying theoretical frameworks and evidence-based practices to legal, ethical, and political aspects of healthcare. Course instruction will be delivered in an online format, and the successful candidate will be adept at utilizing contemporary concepts and techniques to effectively engage students in a virtual classroom environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Course Instruction: Deliver course content that covers leadership, healthcare policy, systems thinking, and evidence-based practice, ensuring alignment with the course description and learning objectives.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, lectures, assignments, and assessments, that incorporate current trends and issues in healthcare leadership and policy.
- Student Engagement: Foster a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and active participation among students.
- Assessment: Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and projects, providing constructive feedback to promote student learning and development.
- Mentorship: Serve as a mentor to students, offering guidance on academic and professional development, including career pathways in healthcare leadership and advocacy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with department faculty and staff to ensure the course meets program requirements and standards set by accrediting bodies.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with developments in healthcare policy, leadership, and education, and integrate new knowledge into course content.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- Master’s degree or higher in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Health Policy, or a related field. Doctoral degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare leadership, policy analysis, or advocacy, with a focus on improving healthcare systems and outcomes.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage students and promote a learning environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Proficiency in the use of educational technology and online learning platforms.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that embraces diversity and promotes equity and social justice in healthcare.
Preferred:
- Prior teaching experience at the graduate level, particularly in healthcare-related courses, is highly desirable.
- Experience in applying theoretical frameworks and evidence-based practices in real-world healthcare settings.
- Active involvement in healthcare policy or advocacy organizations at the local, regional, or national level.
- A track record of scholarly work or professional contributions in healthcare leadership or policy.
Hours of Employment
A work schedule will be established in consultation with the Program Chair.

Anywhere within the continental United States, either from a home office, at a campus or other University location.
