Job Description and Any Special Skills:
This exciting position is especially well suited for a student in either the undergrad or one of the graduate programs who expects to be at Antioch for at least a year, preferably longer. Two Hawks Quarterly is a digital literary journal run by undergrad student interns and overseen by two faculty advisers: Deborah A. Lott and Caley O’Dwyer. We publish literary works that come to us from writers all over the world. This work/study position will have primary responsibility for the technical side of editorial and production. Prior experience with WordPress (or a similar platform) and aptitude for technology are essential. You will be responsible for posting accepted works to our WordPress site during production quarters (Fall and Spring) and also reading and weighing in on submissions. Tasks may also include copyediting, proofreading, and communication with authors. Prior work/study editors chose to attend most meetings of Two Hawks Quarterly (4-6:50 Tuesdays, Spring quarter) but attendance at all meetings is not mandatory. However, the ability to work as a member of a team and communicate well with team members is crucial. Attention to detail and ability to adhere to tight deadlines are also critical. You may set your own work schedule with some flexibility as long as you are putting in the required hours and the tasks are completed on time. Staying in frequent (often daily) email and telephone contact with supervisor is required.
