Job Description

  • ee360+ is an initiative of the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) that supports innovative, equitable, inclusive environmental education across the country. Antioch University New England’s (AUNE) Environmental Education (EE) Program within the Environmental Studies Department is one of the seven lead ee360+ partners (for details, see here.).
  • This position is intended to help the ee360 Antioch Co-Directors and Antioch ee360 team with projects, educational module design and other programmatic deliverables outlined in Year 2/3 work plan.
  • Duties include a wide range of educational design and general administrative tasks to support ee360’s roll out of the NAAEE Community Engagement Environmental Education Guidelines for Excellence.
  • Position responsibilities include (time devoted to specific tasks are approximate):– (1 hr/week)
  • Assist with the design and implementation of presentations, workshops and complementary curricular materials focused on the NAAEE Community Engagement Environmental Education Guidelines. — (2-3 hrs/week)
  • Provide programmatic support and assist with administrative duties on a consistent basis to ensure high quality, timely communications of this multi-faceted national initiative (e.g., workshop planning logistics, email and other outreach communications, notices about the Guidelines in general and train-the-trainer workshops via eePRO, partner newsletters, manage travel reimbursements, etc.). — (2-3 hr/week)
  • Contribute to relevant evaluative data collection and report writing on an as-needed basis. — (1 hr/week)
  • Complete research, editing, design and/or creation of training modules and/or educational activities on priority topics and tools highlighted in the Community Engagement Environmental Education Guidelines (e.g., appreciative inquiry, community engagement, facilitation, conflict resolution, civic engagement strategies, etc.).
  • Ideally, this work forms the basis of an environmental studies master’s student capstone.
  • As your interest allows, you may play a key role in expanding upon the equity and inclusion module’s content and make it more accessible to an online audience. — (1 hr/week)
  • Represent Antioch University New England ee360+ team in various regional and national venues (e.g., national ee360+ virtual meetings, conferences, etc.). This includes participation in the NAAEE fall conference (virtual in 2023) in mid-October; registration costs are covered by grant funding.– (1 hr/week)
  • Provide marketing and communications support to enhance networking among current/future AUNE students. — (less than 1 hr/week;as interested)
  • Cultivate social marketing presence of AUNE ee360+ activities and EE programming.– (less than 1 hr/week; as interested)
  • Highlight current EE student and graduate accomplishments for web publication.
    –As timing permits, being program planning in collaboration with the AUNE ee360+ staff and partners to design and implement a 1½ day train-the-trainer workshop on the Community Engagement Environmental Education Guidelines conducted at the 2023 NAAEE virtual conference (October).
    –Other duties as identified in collaboration with the EE faculty and ee360+ Antioch team members to ensure completion of ee360+ Year 2/3 deliverables and support for AUNE’s EE programming (e.g., literature reviews, represent program externally, office work, program reports, connect with prospective students, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills,
  • flexible,
  • capacity to work independently and as part of a team,
  • computer savvy and familiarity with Google Suite a plus,
  • excellent writing skills,
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to network and seek out resources required.
  • Interest and/or experience in videography, print media, project management, etc. a plus, though not required.
  • Preference given to individuals familiar with Antioch’s EE Program and/or extensive experience in the field.
