Job Description

This position works primarily with a multi-faceted national initiative, which is funded through the Pisces Foundation with the intent to improve evaluation efforts in the environmental education (EE) field through culturally responsive, equitable evaluation capacity building efforts. Antioch University New England’s EE Program is a key national partner with North Carolina State University (NCSU), Duke University, Askew Consulting and a multitude of EE evaluation sites/universities across the country, working to identify and organize user-friendly evaluation planning tools; share promising practices across EE contexts; and improve evaluation efforts to strengthen the EE field. 1) Offer support as needed to ensure synergy across related AUNE Environmental Education Initiatives—Culturally Responsive & Equitable Evaluation (CREE), ee360+ and Community Garden Connections–with a particular focus on CREE components. Specifics to be worked out with student(s) staff based on their interests, programmatic needs, and time-sensitive priorities. 2) Research, develop, revise and/or offer administrative support for 2022-23 rollout of eeVAL web-based resources via the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE). 3) Planning support for NAAEE Fall 2022 Conference to highlight eeVAL web portal among practitioners, researchers and conference attendees (as needed); 4) Identify, develop, pilot and/or refine evaluative protocols/instruments or other evaluative tools to highlight on eeVAL web portal (as needed); 5) Assist with review of online portal for relevant content and collaborate with NCSU and other key partners to contribute to the promising practices guide for collective evaluation. 6) Provide marketing and communications support to enhance networking among current/future AUNE students. 7) Cultivate relevant social marketing presence of AUNE CREE activities and EE programming in collaboration with ee360+ staff (as feasible). 8) Highlight current EE student and graduate accomplishments for web publication, especially those which relate to evaluation, equity and inclusion efforts. 9) Highlight related current EE student and graduate accomplishments for web publication (e.g., evaluation efforts among graduates; relevant student class projects/capstone, etc.) 10) Additional projects, responsibilities and deliverables as they arise and/or in consultation with EE faculty and students. NOTE : Non-federal work study and work-study eligible students may apply. Position can serve as a professional internship for interested enrolled students.

Qualifications

Excellent organizational and time management skills, flexible, capacity to work independently and as part of a team, computer savvy, excellent writing skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to network and seek out resources required. Interest and/or experience in program evaluation; culturally responsive pedagogy and evaluation; project management a plus, though not required. Preference given to individuals familiar with Antioch’s EE Program and/or extensive experience in the field. Willingness to continually learn and lean into themes of equity, justice and inclusion. Compliance with all Covid19 socially distancing, health and safety precautions required.
