Job Description
- The Bird Ecology Interpretive Designer will work under the direction of the Ashuelot River Park Advisory Board and Friends of the Arboretum at Ashuelot River Park in Keene, NH to research and design interpretive activities and materials for a section of the park.
- Duties will include 1) Investigating the history, master plan, and bird species at the park (2 hrs.)
- Collaborating closely with members of the board and friends group to identify the interpretive activities that will be created (3 hrs.)
- Designing interpretive signage and activities for board approval and final installation (5 hrs.).
- “Signage” may include interpretive markers at bird habitat locations, an electronic map, audio guides to park bird habitats, information placed on a welcome kiosk, and web-based resources.
- Members of the board and friends group welcome additional ideas based on an applicant’s graduate studies and professional experience.
- NOTE: This job is designed as work study and may be a NON-work study position.
Qualifications
Interpretive and environmental education experience along with knowledge about birds are helpful AND willingness to learn is the most vital qualification.
