Method to assess remote work: The position requires ongoing publication of content. It will be assessed by the results: regular publications of new podcast episodes per podcast schedule. Weekly Zoom meetings with the MFA Faculty. Social Media posts per social media schedule.
Job Description
- The Social Media Specialist II / MFA Podcast Coordinator will create positive relationships and engagement with the Antioch MFA community—students, faculty, and alumni—using various online and offline mediums such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
- Work with the LitCit team to coordinate, plan, and produce guest interviews;
- Work closely with the MFA Social Media & Marketing/Communications Specialist to develop a social media plan for the Creative Writing dept, and specifically for the MFA podcast LitCit;
- Develop and maintain relationships with the MFA community through social media by monitoring their publications and accomplishments, as well as other activities, and promoting those activities on various mediums;
- Generate new content daily that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to engage;
- Announce MFA-related activities, information, and announcements on social media when necessary;
- Collaborate with Antioch Marketing and other MFA team members to generate content;
- Create other innovative and new marketing and social media ideas to generate interest in Antioch’s MFA program and our community;
- Develop and maintain a strong MFA community network to actively seek out story ideas.
Qualifications
- Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist;
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills;
- Demonstrable social networking experience;
- Willingness and ability to learn new platforms and tools;
- Ability to work with other members of the MFA team and other members of the community to communicate expectations, goals, and deadlines;
- Attention to detail.
