Percentage of time that could be remote (0-100%): 70% of work will be remote and will involve analyzing field and laboratory samples, data management, and data analysis.

Method to assess remote work: I plan to meet regularly with the technician to discuss workflow and oversee work quality.

 

Job Description

  • The Lichen and Bryophyte Technician will identify bryophytes and lichens in field samples (1 hr / week); analyze soil samples containing lichens and bryophytes (3 hrs / week); manage a complex data set (3 hrs / week); and perform complex data analysis (3 hrs / week).

Qualifications

  • 1. Familiarity with lichen and bryophyte ID and ecology.
  • 2. Strong data management and analysis skills.
  • 3. Strong attention to detail.
  • 4. Willingness and ability and learn complex new skills largely independently.
  • 5. Strong communication skills.
