Beginning his career with Security Pacific Corporation (later merged with Bank of America), Bob was one of the youngest acting managers in the California branch-banking system. Conversations with a veteran in the advertising industry, however, soon led Bob to pursue a more creative, entrepreneurial opportunity, helping to establish a direct marketing and advertising agency which grew to serve such clients as SPI Pharmaceuticals, Kinko’s, City of Hope, California Credit Union and others.

After Bob’s work on behalf of a large nonprofit organization was featured in the Los Angeles Times, he was hired by a leading consulting firm to serve as a marketing communications and public relations counsel for area nonprofits such as Union Rescue Mission, Public Television of Southern California, and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, to name a few. This experience with the nonprofit community next led Bob to accept an invitation from the California-Pacific Conference of the United Methodist Church to direct a multi-million dollar capital campaign for church growth and ministry expansion, involving more than 2,000 volunteers in 403 churches.

Subsequently, Bob was hired by the nation’s largest marketing communications agency serving nonprofit organizations, the Russ Reid Company, to be a Senior Consultant to executive leaders of the company’s nonprofit clients. A partial listing of his clients served includes Boys Town, Los Angeles Mission, American Cancer Society, World Vision, American Red Cross, House Ear Institute, Cerritos College, Branson Lakes Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Lutheran Hour Ministries, Kaiser Permanente and more. For six years, he served as a member of the board of the Center for Nonprofit Management, a consulting, training and information resource provider serving more than 5,000 nonprofit professionals from more than 1,000 not-for-profit organizations throughout Southern California

In the for-profit sector, in addition to his earlier banking industry experience, Bob served as the Executive Vice President & General Manager for Responsum Inc.—a software company he co-founded on behalf of Vanenburg Group BV; an international technology company based in the Netherlands —serving a customer list that included GE, Cabot Corporation, and others. He later went on to become the founding Vice President of Business Development for a linguistically-based search technology firm based in Los Angeles, where he additionally served briefly as Interim CEO.

When not teaching, consulting, coaching, or business building, Bob spends his time visiting with family and friends, reading, listening to music, writing poetry, and trying his hand as a fledgling songwriter. For several years, Bob and his wife Wendy have been producing the Cordovaland House Concert Series in their Glendale home, featuring emerging songwriters from around the world in an intimate acoustic setting. Formerly a marathoner and running coach, he was a founding member of the Pasadena Pacers Running Club, for whom he served as the president for two years.
