Lucille Byno, PhD
Assistant Professor, Marriage & Family Therapy, Applied Psychology
Lucille Byno earned her Doctorate in Marriage & the Family from Florida State University. Her dissertation research focused on the sexual behaviors and attitudes of emerging adults, as well as the influence of their parents’ attitudes toward sexuality on the emerging adult behaviors and attitudes. While earning her doctorate and afterward, Dr. Byno worked on a research team further exploring the characteristics of emerging adult love and sexual relationships. During her collegiate years Lucille earned various awards for academic excellence such as the Norejane J Hendrickson Scholarship and the James Walters Scholarship. Dr. Byno is a past member of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society, and a current member of the Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society.
Lucille Byno is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New Hampshire and Florida. In addition, Dr. Byno is an assistant professor, and the program director for the Marriage & Family Therapy Master’s program at Antioch University New England, Keene, NH. It is in this capacity that she feels the most excitement; playing a small part in helping students work toward making a difference in the lives of others, and seeing them opening themselves to self-growth.
As a member of the New Hampshire Association of Marriage and Family Therapist, she serves as co-chair of the Education Committee. She is a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), a Certified Family Life Educator, an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, and a member of the National Council on Family Relations.
The core of my teaching, therapy, and research is inspired by an attempt to make a positive difference in the lives others. My current research interests are systemic mindfulness in therapy and supervision, relationship development and maintenance, sexuality in relationships, therapist self-care and wellness, among others.
