Working with individuals, couples, and families for a stronger community.
Sometimes we find ourselves struggling, unsure of how to make things better and most of us have experienced challenges within an important relationship. It’s important to know that at times like those, you are not alone. The Couple and Family Therapy Institute (CFTI) is here to help.
CFTI therapists provide individual, couple, marriage, and family therapy in our state-of-the-art clinic. Our therapists are master’s and doctoral students in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Antioch University New England, and are supervised by faculty who are Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists and Approved Supervisors by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Therapy appointments are available Mondays through Thursdays, in the morning, afternoon and evening. Fees are determined on a sliding scale. There is no limit to how long our services can be used, and we work with a wide range of issues.
We are here for you.
Our mission is to assist individuals, couples, and families who are struggling with mental illness, relationship distress, family struggles, or other challenging life circumstances to experience change for the better, growth, and success in accomplishing their quality of life goals. To achieve this, we strive to deliver services that are high quality, affordable, accessible, and respectful of a person’s family and loved ones, age, gender, culture, ethnicity, and sexual identity.
The Couple and Family Therapy Institute (CFTI) operates to serve two primary purposes: to provide high-quality, low-cost, and confidential clinical services to residents and families of Keene and surrounding communities, and to train excellent family therapists.
Therapists at the CFTI are highly committed to the community and care greatly about meeting your needs. Services are confidential, and we comply with all professional accreditation (COAMFTE) requirements.
At the core of all we do are our beliefs. We believe, without reservation, that all people:
- Have the right to mental health services.
- Deserve to be treated with respect, fairness, and sensitivity to their specific personal and cultural backgrounds.
- Can experience growth, healing, and change with effective treatment and support.
- Are part of many systems and relationships that affect their lives in powerful ways.
Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) are mental health professionals trained in psychotherapy and family systems. Our well-trained MFTs take a systems approach, locating problems within relationships, not within an individual person. They bring a variety of backgrounds, experiences, cultures, and interests to the profession, allowing them to offer a respectful approach that considers the context and culture of the individual person, couple, or family who comes to us as a client.
To ensure that high-quality services are provided to our clients, therapists are closely supervised; all therapy rooms are equipped with one-way mirrors, and all sessions are videotaped. Therapists have close professional relationships with supervisors to ensure that every client receives the highest quality of services. Clients tell us that this team approach is very helpful in reaching their therapeutic goals.
