About our Adjunct Faculty:
Stuart S. Light, MA, MEd, LMFT, attended UCLA to earn his BA in Sociology and UCSB, to earn a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. He also attended Antioch University Santa Barbara, earning a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. As a graduate student in clinical psychology, Stuart twice presented his final assignment in the form of an original song that he felt captured the essence of the subject matter. On occasion, throughout his teaching career, he repeated this process by writing and performing a song as his final offering to the class. In this presentation Stuart will discuss each of the classes he’s taught, the subject matter they covered, and perform the songs they inspired.
Ed Bastian, PhD, teaches undergraduate courses at Antioch on Mindfulness and Buddhism. He holds a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies from the University of Wisconsin was a program director at the Smithsonian, author, filmmaker, internet entrepreneur and is the founding president of Spiritual Paths Foundation (spiritualpaths.net). Ed has developed a teaching process for subjects on religion, spirituality and meditation that honors each student’s archetypal learning styles and deepest questions. Ed will demonstrate how he applies this pedagogical process through his teaching at Antioch, at other institutions, and through his online courses and retreats.
