“Gaviota: The End of Southern California” explores one of the most threatened biodiversity hotspots in the world. Filmed over five years, this film leads audiences from the ocean floor of the Santa Barbara Channel to the peaks of the jagged Santa Ynez Mountains – by Santa Barbara filmmakers Shaw Leonard and Tamlorn Chase.
Tamlorn Chase, the producer, cinematographer and AUSB Graduate in the Environmental Studies Program will answer questions about making the film. Art Cisneros, Chumash elder, Firekeeper, and Tribal Trust Board Member, facilitates reconciliation, is championing Indigenous People’s Day, and shares Chumash wisdom regarding the significance of the land.
