As an Antioch University student, the Office of Disability Support Services (ODSS) offers information and resources to support you in your academic journey.

Whether you are a student who has lived for years with disabilities, are still learning about a new disability or health impairment, or have questions about a potential or temporary condition, this site can help you consider the next steps.

Our Commitment

At Antioch University, we commit to universal access and equity-minded practices for all students regardless of visible or invisible disability, physical or mental health concerns, or chronic illness. We commit to removing the barriers that marginalize any members of the community. We make explicit our commitment to non-discrimination and equity, and to work collaboratively with faculty and staff to achieve an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all students.

Antioch University ensures, in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and all amendments, and other disability nondiscrimination laws, that no student shall, on the basis of his or her disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subject to discrimination under any university program or activity.

Services Across the University

Antioch University maintains a Disability Support Services (DSS) Office on each campus and for university-wide programs to coordinate services for students with disabilities. All students requesting reasonable accommodations must register with the DSS Office and may be required to submit documentation of disability from a healthcare professional. All accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis since functional limitations can vary uniquely.

If you are a student with disabilities and you believe that you may require any reasonable accommodation(s), please get in touch with the DSS Office listed below at the earliest opportunity. Those with documented disabilities, diagnosed by a qualified professional, and disclosed to the coordinator for student disability services, may request and be accorded reasonable accommodations that will allow them to participate in the institution’s programs and services.

Students should understand that the university can provide reasonable accommodation for students with disabilities only upon arrangement through the DSS Office. Faculty and staff members should not attempt to arrange reasonable accommodation of disability independent of the DSS Office.

For more details, students can review Antioch University policy 6.101 Disability Support Services.
