Elinor Jewett, MA, LMFT, earned her BS in Psychology from Vassar College and her MA in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Child and Family Studies from Antioch University, Los Angeles. Elinor trained at the Early Childhood Parenting Center, the originator of “parent and me groups” that brought Bowlby’s Attachment Theory directly into the hands of caregivers. She has worked with families for more than 16 years in community mental health settings and is dedicated to a multicultural approach to counseling that emphasizes equity and healthy communities.
She has been an in-home therapist for at-risk families at Providence Saint John’s Child and Family Development Center, where she focused on strengthening healthy attachments as part of a child abuse prevention program. She’s led groups for parents in transitional housing and developed curricula for vulnerable communities centered on child development, interpersonal skills, fostering secure attachments, and cultivating inner strengths.
Elinor has been in private practice since 2013 and currently focuses on providing parenting support and working with families, couples, and older adolescents. Elinor is also a Senior Lecturer and adjunct professor at Antioch University’s Graduate Psychology program, where she shares her clinical experience and supports the development of future therapists.

My teaching style is centered on shared learning. I bring my clinical experience and ongoing scholarly studies into the classroom, and I invite students to bring their own insights, questions, and lived experience so that we learn together. I emphasize experiential learning, reflective practice, and focused discussion as ways to help students internalize concepts. My goal is to create a collaborative learning environment where students feel supported in developing their clinical voice, exploring new skills, deepening their understanding of the human experience, and integrating theory with real-world practice.
