Leonie Mattison, EdD, MBA, is the Director of Clinical Research Operations & Major Grants at the William Sansum Diabetes Center. Leonie is a passionate executive with a progressive history in financial management and organizational development roles for commercial, non-profit, and governmental institutions nationwide. She has managed organizational and strategic direction of several entities by strengthening from within, empowering employees, and inspiring positive change.

Leonie was with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH), where she managed more than $50 million in grants and programs. Her personal and professional passion is to make a difference in improving the lives and health of the people she serves.

Born in Jamaica, West Indies, and raised in Queens, New York, Leonie holds an MBA from Georgian Court University and a Doctorate from Argosy University. When she’s not helping lead organizational change, you’ll find her enjoying her girls, serving in ministries, dancing her salsa feet away, or helping others in her community.
