Percentage of time that could be remote (0-100%): up to 100% - conceptualizing and planning of the creation of an original documentary; researching historically marginalized DMT history and contemporary perspectives; gathering and planning/coordinating interviews and movement-based footage, coordinating with faculty and DMT community, as well as other stakeholders, and assisting with story-boarding, editing, and narrative development.

Method to assess remote work: Engagement with the process and seeing the project come to fruition.

 

Job Description

  • The student helps shape an accessible, compelling visual resource that reflects the DMT field’s multicultural, embodied, and communal therapeutic foundations.
  • The student will research historically marginalized DMT history and contemporary perspectives, gathering interviews and movement-based footage, coordinating with faculty and community partners, and assisting with story-boarding, editing, and narrative development.

Qualifications

  • Work study eligible; involved with film making experience; ability to connect with community partners; dance/movement therapy student invested in lifting up the history of those who were marginalized in the field.
