    AUNE has a long tradition of attracting and inspiring educators who think outside the box. Our Self-Designed concentration builds an infrastructure through six core classes, but then allows you to custom-tailor an educational experience that is designed to help you excel personally and professionally.

    I grew up on Black Mountain, a unique granite dome in Dummerston, Vermont. I spent my childhood scrambling over rocks, snaking through dense laurel groves, sitting by streams, and gazing at the stars. That fired an early passion for Earth sciences and astronomy.

  • Alex Shevrin Venet

    Alex Shevrin Venet is an educator, author, and professional development facilitator based in Vermont. She teaches community college and graduate teacher education.

  • Dr. Michele Pinellas

    Dr. Pinellas earned her EdD in Counselor Education and Supervision from National Louis University and her MEd in Counselor Education from Florida A&M University. She has worked as a School Counselor in Florida and as an Assistant Professor and Program Co-Coordinator for the School Counseling program at the University of West Georgia.
