Dr. Hitchings received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Antioch University New England in 2004 and completed her pre-doctoral internship at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB, Texas. She fulfilled service as an active duty military psychologist where she supervised the treatment of deployment mental health, traumatic stress responses, crisis management, and prevention activities. As part of her clinical practice, Dr. Hitchings provides integrated behavioral health consultation services in primary care clinics, women’s health, and pediatrics. Dr. Hitching’s orientation is primarily cognitive behavioral, and she includes elements of family systems and object relational theory which allows for a comprehensive treatment approach. Her blend of crisis training and passion for healing from a mind-body mindfulness perspective creates enriching teaching and mentoring opportunities.
