Candy is a U.S. National Certified Counselor, US Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, U.S. Registered Drama Therapist/Board Certified Trainer, and Certified Child Life Specialist. She is certified in Thanatology: Death, Dying and Bereavement (ADEC) and is the recipient of the 2025 Outstanding Achievement Award and the 2024 Innovative Award from the American Dance Therapy Association.
After a successful career as a Musical Theatre performer, Candy graduated from Antioch University New England with an MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling in 2012. Upon returning to Hong Kong, Candy started her private practice, Piece of Sky-Creative Arts Therapy and Counseling. Candy’s passion lies in serving medical professionals and pediatric and adult patients in the medical settings while also working with a wide range of populations: adults on the Autistic Spectrum, children with Selective Mutism, bereavement, people with developmental disabilities, etc.
Candy co-founded the Hong Kong Dance/Movement Therapy Association (past president and current honorary advisor) and Hong Kong Child Life Association (current president) and served as secretary of the Hong Kong Association for Drama Therapists. While in the States, Candy served on the American Dance Therapy Association's Standards and Ethics Committee and the BC-DMT task force, and co-led the Asian and Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Affinity Group.
