My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in human services, a master's degree in counseling psychology, and a doctoral degree in educational leadership with an emphasis in psychology. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of California, an AAMFT-approved supervisor, a certified intuitive eating counselor, and hold the Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) level I designation.

I began my work as a helper in 2006 and have a diverse background of experiences working with adults, children, and families in acute, outpatient, and managed care settings. My work in higher education began in 2012, and I have served as a faculty member and administrator in several institutions, in both the United States and Canada, teaching undergraduate and graduate psychology courses and mentoring graduate students. I maintain a small private practice, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, and provide clinical supervision on a consultation basis.

As a clinician, I have an integrative approach to psychotherapy. I am informed by psychodynamic theory and integrate skills-based approaches like DBT and CBT. My research interests include student therapist perception of competency, medical trauma, and the weaponization of bodies/body size, and applied psychodynamic therapy and accompanying client experiences.
