Psychological, Psychoeducational, and Disability Assessment Services

The Psychological Services Center (PSC) is a training clinic for Antioch University New England’s APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Program. Our clinicians are all doctoral students in clinical psychology. Vincent Pignatiello, PsyD is a licensed psychologist and the Director of the Psychological Service Center. He is also the Director of our Assessment Program.

We provide psychodiagnostic, psychoeducational, and therapeutic assessments for children, adolescents, and adults living in the New England region and beyond. Specifically, our testing and assessment services are provided for:

  • Learning Disabilities
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Personality Functioning
  • Intellectual Abilities
  • Academic Achievement
  • Diagnostic Clarity
  • Vocational Interests
  • Cognitive Testing for Private School Admission

All Psychological Assessments

Psychological assessments typically combine individual interviews and testing to gather information about a person’s cognitive abilities, personality structure, as well as diagnosis and treatment needs. The amount of information and testing that goes into each individual’s assessment is guided by referral and diagnostic questions. The interview and testing can require 8–12 hours, which can be broken up into 2–4 sessions. As a training clinic, please know that it can take up six (6) weeks to complete your final assessment report. If you have needs that require the report in a shorter time frame, please let us know at the beginning of the assessment process and we will try to accommodate as best as we can. Last, please know that everyone’s personal experiences are complex. We will work with you to develop the most appropriate assessment battery for your needs and will be transparent about the associated costs of any testing that we conduct.

Psychoeducational Assessments

We provide assessments of learning disabilities in reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as neurodevelopmental conditions such as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD). All of our reports will include accommodations—what your school or other organizations can do to support you—and recommendations—what you and your treatment providers can do to help you. Many people will share their reports to receive accommodations on standardized and national tests (e.g., ACT, SAT, GRE, and PRAXIS exams), in school, or at their place of work.

Our comprehensive test batteries include tests of cognitive abilities, academic achievement, behavior and learning skills checklists, and a clinical interview. In appropriate cases, additional personality measures are included.

Psychodiagnostic Assessments

We provide assessments to help develop diagnostic clarity or insight into your personality and relationship dynamics. These assessments are often requested to help individuals find appropriate treatment, provide suggestions about therapy that is already ongoing, or develop insight into challenges that they are experiencing. Some individuals prefer to include these types of assessments with our psychoeducational assessments.

Appointments

Call us at Antioch Psychological Services Center (PSC) at 603.352.1024. You may also send an email at [email protected]. We will complete a referral form, which includes demographic information plus the reason you are requesting an assessment. Our Assessment Director may reach out to you to help clarify any uncertainty about your testing needs or referral question.

Please know that referrals for assessment services are in high demand. While we will try to begin the assessment process as soon as we can, you may need to be placed on a waitlist. In this case, we can sometimes recommend other organizations or psychologists who may also offer assessment services. If you do seek services elsewhere, please let us know so that we can remove you from the waitlist.

Once the assessment process begins, you will be contacted by one of our clinicians. They will explain the forms that we require before the assessment and send them electronically. We use DocuSign, Pearson Q-Global, PAR iConnect, and others, so please check your email’s junk folder if you do not receive these links. These forms might include a detailed history, informed consent, release of information forms, and checklists. Please complete these before your intake as our clinicians can take this information into consideration.

In the case of a learning disability or ADHD evaluation, we will also ask to see prior academic and assessment records for our review. This information provides crucial background information for an accurate evaluation.

You will then have, usually, 2–4 assessment sessions, during which time your clinician will be administering tests to you. They may also be sending you questionnaires that you can complete at home. Once the testing is completed, you will have a final session with your clinician and the Assessment Director to discuss the results.

Assessment Fees

After your intake, we will require a $100 deposit, which will be applied to your total fee. Because we are a training clinic for doctoral clinical psychology students, we have very reasonable standard fees for our assessment services. Fees generally range from $750 to $1,000, depending on the referral question and tests needed. At the PSC, we use a flat-fee structure, so you are not charged on a test-by-test basis. We will explain the structure of our fees during the intake session so that you can make an informed decision about the services that you will receive.

We ask that you pay your fee in full before your feedback session. Questions concerning the fee or the payment policy should be discussed with your clinician before the assessment process begins.
