The Vice Chancellor & CFO’s office runs the centralized finance operations of the University which comprise substantially all material financial transactions including:
- Payroll and benefits: Antioch University has 1500 employees, whose payroll, benefits, worker’s compensation and unemployment are administered centrally.
- Healthcare & Retirement: Antioch University’s healthcare plan is provided, administered and managed centrally, as are the three retirement plans for present and former Antioch employees.
- Accounting and Accounts Payable: Accounts payable are processed at the campus level, but are paid through a central account which is monitored and maintained centrally.
- Information Technology: The IT function is truly a “virtual” organization, with staff based at each campus, and areas of competency and excellence at one campus supporting the needs of the university as a whole.
- Capital Assets and Debt: All capital debt and assets are carried on the balance sheet of Antioch University as a whole.
- Reserve Policy: The University enforces a reserve policy to assure that campuses have adequate resources to support operations.
