WYSO Radio

WYSO, 91.3 FM, is run by Antioch University out of Yellow Springs, Ohio. Providing listeners with news, information, and entertainment, WYSO broadcasts twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

We are a National Public Radio (NPR) member station. We are the only NPR station to serve the Miami Valley. Besides airing NPR’s flagship programs, including “Morning Edition” and “All Things Considered”, we offer a range of local programming. WYSO’s own news department delivers local and state news, as well as public affairs programming and news specials. We also offer our own local music programs, hosted largely by our dedicated and knowledgeable staff of volunteers.

Past, present and future

WYSO began in 1958 as a student-run station on the campus of Antioch College. It aired four hours a day, featuring music and local public affairs programming.

Today we reach nine counties in southwest Ohio and broadcast in HD. We also stream our programming live on WYSO.org. In addition to NPR programming, we air programs from Public Radio International, American Public Media and the British Broadcasting Service (BBC), among others.

We are currently supported by eight full-time and two part-time staff members, as well as more than twenty weekly volunteers, not to mention our nearly four thousand members and an indispensable host of sponsors.
