Jerry Saslow is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Los Angeles, specializing in the care and treatment of adolescents –as well as those affected by substance abuse. He spent six years on staff at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in the Division of Adolescent Medicine as a psychotherapist in the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Program. There, Jerry developed the curriculum for The BOYler ROOM, a 10-week psychoeducational and process group for adolescent boys that allows for its young participants to challenge the many destructive male discourses that they are recruited into at an early age, and to begin to replace them for more positive, preferred, and productive versions of masculinity. Jerry has facilitated this group experience to over 400 adolescent males. Additionally, he directed and produced “Get On This Grass,” a PSA music video starring youth aimed at encouraging other youth to engage in alternative activities to marijuana use.
