All applicants to the undergraduate programs must have completed at least 24 semester units or 36 quarter units to be eligible for admissions. You must also provide evidence that you have successfully completed at least 18 semester units or 27 quarter units in a cohesive area of study that can be applied to your major.

- Online application
- Application fee payment (via the online application) or fee waiver. Contact Admissions to request a fee waiver at [email protected]
- Official transcripts from all current and previously attended colleges or universities. Unofficial transcripts are accepted to get your admission review process started, and can be uploaded in the online application or emailed to [email protected]
- High school transcript or proof of GED completion if applying with less than 90 quarter units (60 semester units) of transferable credit
- Admission essay (see below)
Guidelines: Double spaced, 12pt Times or Times New Roman font, with 1-inch margins, top right header on every page (in all capital letters): first and last name, BACHELOR’S PROGRAM, page number.
Instructions: In two pages please respond to the following essay prompt:
Looking forward, describe your educational, career, and personal goals and how the completion of your bachelor’s degree at AUSB can help you accomplish those goals.
Optional: If you feel your GPA does not represent your academic ability briefly explain what specific factors contributed to your GPA, and how have those factors changed so that you can be successful in our undergraduate studies programs at AUSB today?
Please note: The essay portion of your admission application is strongly considered and you are encouraged to follow all instructions closely. Essays should demonstrate your best writing quality. It is expected that you complete this essay (including any form of editing and revisions) without the assistance of anyone else; any essay submission that does not follow this guideline is considered fraudulent.
Transfer Credit & Prior Learning
- A maximum of 135 quarter (90 semester) units may be accepted, with any combination of lower‐division and upper‐division level work, all with a grade of “C” or better.
- A maximum of 57 quarter (38 semester) units may come from any one department.
- All transfer units must be awarded prior to registration for the final quarter at AUSB.
- Students can concurrently enroll in up to 12 semester units.
- A maximum of 6 quarter (4 semester) units may be accepted in physical activities courses.
- A maximum of 12 quarter or 8 semester units may be accepted in English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.
- A maximum of 30 quarter (20 semester) units may be accepted for any of the optional Concentrations.
Prior Experiential Learning
AUSB students have the option of earning college‐level credit for learning done outside of college. Prior Learning Assessment is the process of earning college credit for college-level learning acquired from other sources, such as work experience, professional training, military training, or open source learning from the web. AUSB accepts credits awarded through Learning Counts.
- Prior Learning Assessment units may be utilized if a student does not have the maximum of 135 quarter units upon transfer, and only to reach 135 quarter unit transfer total, and not to exceed 45 quarter units.
