You’ve finished your degree and are graduating from one of Antioch University New England’s adult education programs: Congratulations! Use this page to find everything you need to make Commencement as smooth as possible, so you can focus on what matters-your new career! Please check back often for additional information and updates.
Our annual Commencement ceremony brings together participants from all academic departments. Eligible participants will include October 2017 graduates, December 2017 graduates, May 2018, and August 2018 graduates and finishers. Finishers are students who have registered by the spring 2018 semester for all courses, internships, and independent studies required for the degree and who are considered to be in good academic standing by the chairperson of their academic department.
Graduation (conferral of degrees) and Commencement are separate events. Commencement is a day of celebration, held once per year in May. Students currently enrolled in their final semester should submit a Graduation Application during the three months before their final term begins. This application will be reviewed by the Registrar’s Office who will then initiate the process for your program completion. For more information and access to the intent to graduate form, visit out graduation information page.
Students will be invited to participate in the Commencement Ceremony based on their date of completion as described above. An invite with further details and instructions will be sent directly to the finishing student’s email in early February.
Each participant will receive two printed Commencement tickets and directions to the ceremony location (Keene Middle School). These tickets must be shown by guests in order to enter the auditorium. We are able to accommodate two guests per participant in the auditorium. As we get closer to the date, if additional tickets become available, we will distribute them to you through a waiting list.
Please arrive at the auditorium at the Keene Middle School on Saturday by 9 am. Arriving by 9 am will enable you to robe and assemble for the Academic Procession.
It is customary that participants are suitably robed for this occasion, which is part of a longstanding respected academic tradition. Commencement attire consists of a gown, a hood, cap, and a tassel. You will be prompted to order any attire you might need after you complete the Intent to participate form.
New attire can be ordered online directly from University Cap and Gown , or call them at 800-585-5500. You will need AUNE’s school ID# which is 00128. Please have your credit card ready.
A committee of 2003 commencement participants began the Cap and Gown Book Scholarship Fund. It supports single parents. We are pleased that the Cap and Gown Reuse Program is available this year. For more information and to order commencement attire through this program, please click here. If you choose not to participate in this program there are two ways you can still participate:
- If you purchase new attire, please consider donating all or part of it following commencement to grow the scholarship program. Hoods are the most urgently needed. You will receive an acknowledgement for a gift-in-kind.
- Make an outright cash donation to the scholarship by sending a check payable to: AUNE Cap and Gown Scholarship, Office of Development and Alumni Relations, AUNE, 40 Avon Street, Keene, NH 03431.
